Update NordicFTMS

Updating is just uninstalling the current version and then installing the latest one. You only need to enter privileged mode once.

Before you start

Keep this page open on your phone while you work on the treadmill.
Use this page if NordicFTMS is already installed and you want the latest version.
You only need to perform the privileged mode tap sequence one time during the update.

Enter privileged mode

Use this same privileged mode flow for first-time installation, updates, and uninstalling NordicFTMS.

Turn on the treadmill and let the tablet boot normally.
Wait until the treadmill screen is fully loaded.
Find a blank area somewhere in the upper-left corner with no button, icon, or image on top of it.
Tap that exact same spot 10 times.
Wait 7 seconds.
Tap the same spot 10 more times.
A popup should appear showing a six-digit number and asking you to enter a code.

Helpful note: If nothing happens, return to a screen with a blank spot near the upper-left corner and try again in a slightly different area.

Uninstall NordicFTMS

Remove the currently installed NordicFTMS app from the treadmill before reinstalling or if you no longer need it.

Once you are in privileged mode, find NordicFTMS in the apps list.
Long press NordicFTMS.
Tap App Info.
Within App Info for NordicFTMS, tap Uninstall.

Helpful note: If you are uninstalling so you can install the latest version, go straight to the install step after the uninstall completes.

Install NordicFTMS

Use the code tool below, unlock the Android desktop, and install NordicFTMS from the treadmill browser.

After entering the generated code on the treadmill, you should be taken to the tablet desktop.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the app drawer.
Open Browser.
In the browser, go to https://powertread.fit/nordicftms.
The NordicFTMS APK should download automatically.
Tap the downloaded file to run the application.
If Android asks you to confirm the install, allow it and continue.
NordicFTMS should launch in the background and then return you to the treadmill app automatically.

Helpful note: Once NordicFTMS is installed, you should not need to repeat these steps unless the treadmill is reset or you are installing an update.

Verify Bluetooth pairing

After installation, the treadmill should behave like a standard FTMS Bluetooth treadmill.

Open PowerTread or another FTMS-compatible app on your phone or tablet.
Start scanning for nearby treadmills.
Confirm that the treadmill appears as NordicFTMS on the pairing screen.
Pair it and verify that it behaves like a normal FTMS Bluetooth peripheral.

Helpful note: If NordicFTMS does not appear immediately, wait 10 to 15 seconds and scan again. A reboot of the treadmill can also help after the initial install.
